Eleanor Meynell
I am passionate about using my musical skills to bring joy to those in need. I have always been interested in how music effects the brain and especially how it effects the brain and dementia. The benefits of music for Alzheimers and dementia are undisputed and the body scientific research advocating for music as a fundamental and necessary part of dementia care is growing. I keep up-to-date with the latest discoveries in music and dementia in the news, research in specialist journals, literature and CPD courses and I have regular supervision with Alice Hardy, Senior Music Therapist at Royal Hospital for Neuro-disability.

I was surprised that one of our residents sat for a whole hour for the session which is amazing. For one residents who doesn't usually like to sit down, the music made her join in!
Care staff
Great interaction! The residents responded very well an engaged in singing and dancing. One particular resident's engagement and broad smile really surprised me. It was amazing to see her come alive through music.
Nurse
The residents danced and really engaged with Eleanor. It was lovely to see the carers engage too and next time I would like to bring through more.
